What Is the 30-Day Drawing Prompt Challenge?
The concept is simple: each day, we provide a unique prompt to help you create a mini artwork on a Post-it note. Why Post-its? They’re small, approachable, and the perfect size for a quick artwork. Over 30 days, you’ll use the calendar of line prompts to spark your imagination, explore new ideas, and take small steps towards building a consistent creative practice. This challenge starts on the 1st of November 2024.
This challenge isn’t just about drawing—it’s also a way to practice creative self-care. Setting aside a few minutes daily to create something just for yourself can be incredibly refreshing and rewarding.
How to Participate
Download the Prompt Calendar: Each day has a unique prompt to guide your creativity. You can download the calendar at the bottom of this blog.
Create Your Daily Post-It Note Arworkt: Let the prompt guide you, but don’t overthink it! Spend a few minutes creating whatever comes to mind on your Post-it. The key is to enjoy the process and let your imagination flow.
Share Your Creations and Connect: Share your drawings with our community on Facebook, Substack, and Instagram. Seeing what others create can be a great source of inspiration and community connection to keep you motivated over the 30 days.

No! This challenge is open to everyone, regardless of skill level. Whether you identify as an artist or just curious about creativity, the prompts are designed to inspire creativity and help you express yourself in your own style.

A pack of Post-it notes and your favourite drawing tools—pens, markers, coloured pencils, or anything else you like to use! If you like experimenting try collage, mixed media, painting! You can also create digital artworks using drawing apps. There are no rules around mediums, please choose whatever works for you.

You can spend as much or as little time as you want on each drawing. I recommend setting aside at least 10-15 minutes to engage with the prompt, but even a quick doodle is perfectly fine, particulary on a busy day where its hard to find the time.

Yes! I’ve created a private facebook group which you’ll find is a supportive online community where participants can share their work, ask questions, and connect with each other. Join the Facebook group and follow on @markandmovement on Instagram or Substack for daily inspiration and encouragement.

Of course! While the challenge runs for 30 days, you can complete the prompts at your own pace. Feel free to take breaks or extend the challenge as you see fit. And if you are not a social media person you are welcome to participate offline.

The 30-Day Drawing Prompt Challenge is all about exploring creativity and making time for art each day, and I’m so glad you’re joining in! Since I started this challenge in July 2022, it’s been incredible to see how it’s grown and connected so many of us through our shared love of drawing. This fourth edition is all about sparking imagination and enjoying a simple, daily creative practice.
