NDIS Funded Counselling & Creative Support

A person-centered, holistic approach for participants who process the inner & outer world visually, tactilely, or deeply within.

If you have tried traditional talk therapy and felt like you were just talking in circles, or if you are looking for a therapeutic space that sees you as a whole human rather than a list of functional outcomes—you are in the right place.

I offer online NDIS counselling that weaves together person-centered counselling, transpersonal art therapy, guided imagery, and mindfulness. Billed under standard NDIS Counselling line items, this service is designed to help you move at your own pace, explore your identity, and build genuine safety within yourself.

For NDIS Participants: You Are Not a Checklist

The NDIS world comes with a lot of clinical language—emotional regulation, social participation, capacity building, daily living. While those goals matter, you are so much more than your plan description.

Whether disability or psychosocial challenge is a brand-new label you are trying to navigate, or something you have carried your whole life, therapy should be a place where you can drop the heavy lifting and just be.

Why We Weave in Creative & Tactile Expression

We cannot always think or talk our way out of an inner loop. Sometimes words fall short, or the thinking mind works overtime to protect us from looking at what is really going on.

Integrating simple mark-making, colour, texture, guided visualization, and dream exploration opens a different doorway.

  • No art experience required: This isn't about making "good art" or being creative; it's about using visual and physical tools to make your internal experience tangible and honest.

  • A bottom-up approach: Excellent for anxious minds, overthinkers, and tactile learners who need space to feel safe before diving into deep conversation.

  • Honoring your worldview: A welcoming container if you have a spiritual leaning, a rich visual inner world, or a subtle way of sensing things that wasn't well-supported in more clinical or medical model settings.

What We Work On Together

Instead of treating you like a self-improvement project to be fixed or pathologised, we focus on small, sustainable stepping stones. We build internal safety and capacity at your own pace, so you can navigate the world without constantly tipping over into overwhelm.

  • Nervous System Regulation & Capacity

    • What it looks like: Using evidence-based nervous system regulation tools, creative expression, and felt-sense awareness to help you recognize when your system is dropping into fight, flight, or shutdown.

    • Why it matters: You learn about your unique nervous system responses and build a toolkit to gently activate or deactivate your nervous system states. When stress arises you will have more tools to notice and meet experience stress, learn how to support yourself, advocate for your needs, and feel safe in your own body.

  • Processing & Navigating Emotional States

    • What it looks like: Creating space to name, express, and sit with complex feelings—using art materials, imagery, story telling or simple conversation—without needing to rush away from discomfort or force immediate answers.

    • Why it matters: When you develop more ways to both process and understand what you feel and why, you reduce the heavy internal friction of experiencing emotions and feelings which can feel threatening. This naturally softens your relationship with yourself, reduces daily overwhelm, and improves how you connect with others.

  • Identity, Strengths & Self-Advocacy

    • What it looks like: Uncovering who you are beneath expectations, medical labels, or roles you've had to play to survive in spaces that weren't built for you.

    • Why it matters: You begin to recognise your innate gifts and boundaries, building the self-trust needed to show up in the world on terms that actually work for you.

For Support Coordinators & Plan Managers

I provide high-quality, online individual counselling for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants across Australia.

My practice offers a vital complementary services for participants with psychosocial goals who have not responded well to traditional, purely cognitive talk therapies, or who require a gentler, metaphor- and creative-based approach to access their inner world.

I work best with clients who:

  • Hold NDIS funding under Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living.

  • Identify with psychosocial support needs, sensory overwhelm, anxiety, or complex identity navigation—and are looking for a space that sees them beyond clinical labels.

  • Are naturally drawn to creativity, symbol, and expression, recognizing that engaging their imagination, hands, and senses will be a vital vehicle in their recovery—helping them safely explore, express, and process what words alone struggle to reach.

  • Prefer the low-sensory comfort and accessibility of telehealth/online delivery from their own home environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be good at art?

Not at all. We might use simple mark-making, intuitive colour choices, pastels, or collage purely as a tool for self-discovery and communication. If you feel hesitant around art supplies, we take it slow and explore those feelings together with curiosity.

Is this covered if I am Agency Managed (NDIA-managed)?

I only work directly with Plan-Managed and Self-Managed NDIS participants.

How do sessions run?

Sessions are 60 minutes long via Zoom. We check in, see where your energy is at, and collaboratively map out the rhythm of the session—whether that includes quiet conversation, guided imagery, or working with mark-making on paper.
