Transpersonal Art Therapy & Counselling
For Those Drawn to Create
(But Something Stops You)
Reconnect with your creative self through transpersonal art therapy—a gentle space to express freely, without judgment or pressure to be "good enough."
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
You feel pulled toward creativity. There's something in you that wants to express, to make, to explore—but it stays locked inside.
Maybe the inner critic is too loud: "You're not artistic. It won't be good enough. You don't have time for this."
Maybe life is too full, too busy, too overwhelming to make space for something that feels indulgent or frivolous.
Maybe you used to create freely as a child, but somewhere along the way, you learned to judge yourself. To stay small. To color inside the lines.
You're not alone. And you're not broken.
That pull you feel—that draw toward creativity—is real. It's your authentic self asking for attention. For space. For permission.
Transpersonal art therapy helps you answer that call.
WHAT IS TRANSPERSONAL ART THERAPY?
Transpersonal means "beyond the persona"—beyond the roles, the perfectionism, the voice that says you're not creative enough.
It's an approach that uses creativity as a pathway to self-discovery. Not to make "good art," but to express what's inside—the feelings, the patterns, the parts of yourself that words alone can't reach.
Through guided visualization, intuitive art-making, movement, and gentle reflection, we create space for your unconscious wisdom to emerge. We turn down the inner critic and turn up your creative, authentic voice.
This isn't about being artistic. It's about being honest.
In our sessions, you'll explore:
What's blocking your creative expression (and what that block is protecting)
How to reconnect with the playful, curious part of yourself
Ways to express emotions and experiences beyond words
Permission to create without judgment or outcome
The art you make becomes a bridge between your inner world and outer world—a way to see yourself more clearly, process what you're carrying, and step into a freer, more expressive version of you.
HOW IT HELPS
Transpersonal art therapy creates space for what's been buried.
When you allow yourself to create—without pressure, without judgment, without needing it to be perfect—something shifts.
You start to:
Express freely without the inner critic running the show
Reconnect with your creative self that got lost under "shoulds" and responsibilities
Process emotions and experiences that feel too big or complex for words alone
Build self-compassion and gentleness toward yourself
Access play, curiosity, and imagination again
Trust your intuition and inner knowing
Find clarity about what you want and who you are
This work is gentle, slow, and compassionate. It's suited for people who:
Feel drawn to create but struggle with perfectionism or self-judgment
Want to explore personal issues creatively, not just verbally
Are navigating life transitions, identity shifts, or creative blocks
Long to live more authentically and expressively
Need permission to take up space
You are the expert on you. My role is to hold space, guide the process, and walk beside you as you explore your creative landscape.
WHO THIS WORK IS FOR
I work with people who are drawn to create—but something stops them.
Maybe you're:
Hard on yourself about your art (or everything)
Too busy to make time for creativity, even though it calls to you
A "shadow artist"—someone who supports others' creativity but struggles to claim your own
Perfectionist or self-critical, so creating feels risky or vulnerable
Going through life transitions and seeking a different way to process and explore
Longing to reconnect with the creative, playful part of yourself that got buried
Many of my clients are highly sensitive, creative, or neurodivergent. They've spent years prioritizing everyone else, achieving and performing, and they've lost touch with the part of themselves that just wants to make, play, and express freely.
If this resonates, this work is for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN SESSIONS
Every session is unique and tailored to you, but here's the general flow:
Check-in: We start with where you are today and what you'd like to explore.
Creative invitation: I guide you into a creative process—this might be through visualization, a prompt, movement, poetry, or intuitive exploration.
Art-making: You respond creatively using simple materials you have on hand. No pressure to make it "good"—just honest.
Reflection: Together, we explore what emerged. Not analyzing or judging—just noticing, asking questions, and making meaning together.
Integration: We discuss how the session connects to your life and what you might carry forward.
The focus is always on process, not product. The art is a vehicle for expression and discovery—not something to critique or perfect.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Transpersonal means "beyond the persona"—beyond the everyday roles and identities that limit how we see ourselves.
In transpersonal art therapy, we explore what's beneath the surface: the unconscious patterns, the parts of you that have been hidden or repressed, the wisdom that can't be accessed through ordinary thinking alone.
We use creative expression, guided meditation, movement, play, poetry, and storytelling to quiet the logical mind and tune into your emotional and intuitive self. This creates space for the unknown to become conscious—for reconnection, insight, and transformation.

Absolutely not.
This is the most common misconception about art therapy. You don't need any artistic skill or experience. The art isn't the point—expression is.
If you feel self-conscious about making art, that's completely normal. It's actually something we can work with. I'll support you in finding your unique way of expressing, without judgment or pressure.
The art is just a vehicle. It's not about making something beautiful—it's about what the process reveals.
